Curriculum vitae
Franziska Schemel, born in Frankfurt, lives in Karlsruhe since completing her studies at the State
Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. She works there as a freelance artist. Since 1990 Franziska has
contributed to national and international exhibitions.
In 1992 she received a grant of the town of Freudenstadt. That same year she was awarded the prize
for fine alt of the KSK Kunststiftung. In 1997 she was awarded a grant of the
Centre d'art Conternporani Piramidon in Barcelona. For three months Franziska was abie to live and
work with other artists as an international scholar.
Franziska deals in her works with modern day themes, man in bis today's environment and bis living
space City. Her topics are freely pereeived. The selektion of her works show, that she concentrates
on the Potential of her painting skills and the power to set her individual symbots.
With her technical skills and the use of materials like graphite, sand and acrylic, soils and rust,
metal and siate, and recently also photography, she stirnulates certain assoeiations. |
